Troy Daly

Senior Consultant

I’m a project leader running the balancing act between sustainability goals, commercial feasibility and delivery pragmatism. I’ve developed this skill after more than 15 years working on challenging medium- to large-scale developments across Australia, where sustainability goals are crucial to the project’s success and, frequently, the commercial and delivery solutions require more innovation than the technical solution.

I’m most often brought in during the early business case and planning approval phases. Past roles range from program director on major government urban renewal projects and divestments to specialised management roles delivering significant sustainability initiatives on the ground. I’ve learnt that solving sustainability challenges is as much about strong collaboration across property disciplines as it is about new technology. I once had a career in banking and funds management that set me up to tackle better outcomes on these major property projects.

Of course, the large and/or challenging jobs are my favourite! This has involved pushing towards fruition major urban renewal projects with strong sustainability credentials, such as the Waterloo Estate social housing, Bays Precinct and Westmead renewals; and achieving best practice sustainability outcomes in delivery such as at Lendlease’s The New Rouse Hill and Alkimos.

I have a Bachelor of Economics Master of Urban and Regional Planning, and am currently undertaking Strategic Carbon Management training. Working each day towards balancing economic, environmental and social outcomes allows me to hopefully give back more than I take.

I’m an Australian outdoors junkie – paddle boarding, mountain biking, hiking and snorkelling adventures with the family and dogs!
